"Don’t Abandon the Grassroots they are not looking for your money, they only need jobs – Mantse Ayitey Warns NDC Leadership"

In an exclusive interview, a leading a leading Grassroot activist of the NDC, Mantse Ayitey, has issued a strong call to the party’s leadership and government to prioritize the concerns of the grassroots. Speaking passionately, Mantse Ayitey emphasized that many dedicated party supporters made significant sacrifices to ensure the NDC's victory, and they must not be ignored.

"The leadership of the party and government should not ignore the concerns of the grassroots because some of them worked so hard, not only campaigning on the ground but also spending their own money," Mantse Ayitey said. "Some lost their jobs because they were campaigning for the party. Others lost their families. Some had to abandon their usual activities that earned them income just to support John Mahama, with the hope that when the NDC comes to power, they would be fixed into a job within the shortest possible time."

Mantse Ayitey stressed that the grassroots are not demanding money but rather stable employment opportunities to sustain themselves and their families. "What the grassroots are looking for is not money. They are looking for a job. They are looking for a living so that they can take care of themselves, take care of their families, be well-equipped, and prepare for the 2028 elections."

According to him, while the party is newly in power, it is crucial not to overlook the needs of those who made the victory possible. "The fact that the NDC just came to power doesn't mean that we should abandon their concerns. Their concerns are equally important as those who are seeking appointments. But these are people who have nothing. So at least, the party and the leadership of government must concentrate on getting them a job. Just fix them a job. That is all they are looking for."

He further revealed that many grassroots supporters have reached out to him, expressing their frustrations. "Every call that has come from the grassroots to me, none of them is asking for money. They are looking for a job. Some that I know, a couple I know, both of them happened to work in the same place. They lost their jobs because the were NDC. Today, they have nothing. They have been sacked from where they stay. And to tell me that when such a person raises concerns, you ignore them? That is wickedness."

Mantse Ayitey warned that failure to address these concerns could have serious consequences for the party’s future. "If we don't take time, it will not yield a good result for the party. Pay attention to them. That’s all. That’s all," he urged.

The call from the NDC Mantse Ayitey highlights the growing pressure on the party's leadership to deliver on its promises and ensure that those who worked tirelessly for the party’s success are not left behind.
