NPP Allegedly Pays GHC 10,000 to GHC30,000 to over 200 Social Media Influencers and Bloggers to Boost 2024 Campaign

An anonymous Blogger has alleged that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is paying over 200 social media influencers and bloggers substantial sums of money to promote their agenda ahead of the 2024 elections. According to the source, social media activists receive GHS 10,000 each, while bloggers are paid GHS 30,000 for sharing pro-NPP content online.

The source explained that NPP officials initiate contact with these influencers, adding them to a platform where they are mobilized to distribute news stories favorable to the party. This campaign effort involves a coordinated push to amplify the NPP’s messaging on social media.

In addition, the NPP has allegedly promised each of these influencers and bloggers GHS 100,000 by February 2025 if the party wins the election. The anonymous blogger expressed concerns about the source of these funds, suspecting they may be drawn from public coffers rather than private donations. He warned that this practice could have a severe negative impact on Ghana’s public finances.

The blogger called for a future government to investigate this matter, hold those responsible accountable, and recover the funds if they are found to have been sourced from taxpayers. He emphasized the importance of protecting Ghana's economy and public purse from corruption.
