NII LANTEY VANDERPUYE LEADS THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID - 19 IN ODODODIODIOO

In keeping with the people's mandate, providing service and showing leadership in this COVID-19 pandemic, the MP for the Odododiodioo Constituency, Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuye together with the Office of Former President John Dramani Mahama and Flagbearer of the NDC earlier today made donations of various items which includes Veronica Buckets, Liquid Soaps, Hand Sanitizers, Tissue Papers Packs of Bottled Water, Food, Assorted Drinks, etc to the constituents and head porters (Kayayei) at the Old Fadama.

He later in the day made similar donations to all Assembly Members of the seven (7) electoral areas in the constituency. It is expected that the items will be mounted at strategic locations in the communities within the respective electoral areas to enable constituents to observe the   World Health Organisation (WHO) safety protocols against the Corona Virus.

In presenting the PPEs to the Assembly Members, he charged them to join the sensitization campaign against the coronavirus as he has been doing himself through various mediums. He also called on constituents to adhere to the government's directives during this lockdown period and stay at home as we all join forces to fight the pandemic which has bedeviled us all. He bemoaned the reports in the media over some constituents are defiling the WHO safety protocols and the president's directive to stay at home.

It is instructive to point out that, the MP has been at the forefront of the fight against the COVID-19 since it reared its ugly head in this country. This he has done through the provision of education on the symptoms and prevention of the virus on social media, and other traditional media platforms, printing of hand bills / flyers to sensitize constituents and the general public, sponsoring of videos on the safe hands or handwashing campaign and keeping of social distance among others. He also continues to provide over 20 tankers of water week after week to constituents, as the constituency experiences acute water shortage in the wake of the pandemic. He believes water is an essential necessity in the lives of constituents in this situation and as such would not renege on his effort to make that readily available to the communities.
