MAHAMA IS NOT CONTESTING 2028 – STOP THE FALSEHOOD!

The misinformation and propaganda being peddled by sections of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) suggesting that H.E. President John Dramani Mahama intends to contest the 2028 presidential election must stop.

President John Dramani Mahama has, on several occasions, made his position crystal clear: he will not contest the 2028 elections, he will not seek the NDC flagbearership again, and this is his final term as President of the Republic of Ghana.

The President has repeatedly stated that the people of Ghana entrusted him with one final mandate, and his priority is to honour that trust by fulfilling the promises he made to Ghanaians, not by engaging in discussions about another presidential bid.

Several credible news organisations have carried his statements, confirming that he has ruled out any attempt to seek another term.

At GhanaHub News, we can state without any ambiguity that President John Dramani Mahama is not contesting the 2028 NDC flagbearership race and will not seek a third term as President of Ghana. Any contrary claim is false, misleading, and should be disregarded.

The NDC's General Secretary, Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, has also reinforced this position by describing those calling for a third-term bid as sycophants, making it abundantly clear that the matter is settled.

The conversation should therefore move away from baseless rumours and focus on what truly matters—President Mahama's commitment to resetting Ghana's economy, creating jobs, improving governance, and delivering on the mandate given to him by the Ghanaian people.

The facts are simple: John Dramani Mahama is not contesting in 2028. His focus is governance, not another campaign.
