Chief of Staff Julius Debrah Reaffirms Government's Commitment to Ghana's Shea Industry

Chief of Staff Hon. Julius Debrah has reiterated the Government of Ghana's commitment to strengthening the country's shea industry and unlocking its immense economic potential.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page, Hon. Debrah disclosed that, on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, he had the honour of leading the planting of a shea tree at the Jubilee House as a symbolic demonstration of the government's dedication to developing the shea sector.

According to the Chief of Staff, the tree-planting ceremony, held as part of the Shea Month commemoration, reflects the government's resolve to support the industry's growth through strategic partnerships, value addition, and increased investment across the shea value chain.

He also called on industry stakeholders, development partners, investors, and businesses to join the Global Shea Alliance and work collaboratively to protect, promote, and expand Ghana's shea industry, particularly for the benefit of women whose livelihoods depend on the sector.

Hon. Debrah expressed confidence that, through collective efforts, Ghana can position itself as a leading force in the global shea economy while creating sustainable jobs, driving inclusive economic growth, and improving the livelihoods of communities involved in shea production and processing.

The remarks were contained in a Facebook post published by the Chief of Staff during the observance of Shea Month.
