Mantse Ayitey |
NDC grassroots active advocate, Mantse Ayitey, has called on party supporters and comrades across the country to forgive Sammy Gyamfi and put an end to the ongoing criticisms following a recent controversy.
In a heartfelt message, Ayitey emphasized that Sammy Gyamfi’s public apology reflects remorse and maturity. “Sammy has apologized. This simply means he’s realized what he did was wrong. He’s a young man full of virtue,” Ayitey said, referring to Gyamfi affectionately.
He acknowledged the discontent from some party members regarding Gyamfi’s public gesture, but praised the NDC Communications Officer’s dedication to his role and contributions to the party’s progress, especially during the current administration. “Since we came to government… the opportunity given to him at PMMC and to set up a Goldbod, Sammy has done extraordinarily well.”
Ayitey urged the NDC grassroots to redirect their energy toward advancing the party’s cause and fighting for opportunities for the base. “There are a lot of jobs that need to be given to the grassroots. Let’s focus in that area and fight for the grassroots.”
He stressed that the incident was an "unexpected error" and that Gyamfi’s apology should be accepted in good faith. “Let’s put all the stories aside and forgive our brother… He’s still the most wonderful Sammy Gyamfi. He’s still the giver. And nothing can change his position in our hearts.”
Ayitey concluded with a rallying cry to protect the party from political opponents seeking to exploit internal tensions: “Let’s rather focus on protecting his image from our enemies, the NPP. Sammy Gyamfi today. Sammy Gyamfi tomorrow. Sammy Gyamfi forever.”
“God bless NDC. God bless Sammy Gyamfi. God bless His Excellency John Dramani Mahama,” he added.
