Recounting on how president Akuffo Addo and the NPP under president Kufour treated Rawlings's family in the early years of two thousand, I felt disgusting when I heard Akuffo Addo's claim that Rawlings was his best friend.
Akuffo Addo is acting hypocrisy in Rawlings's sudden demise and I don't know why he is now enjoying friendship with the Rawlings family.
President Akuffo Addo was the same person who challenged Rawlings's citizenship as a Ghanaian, he protested against Rawlings's right to lead Ghana because his father was Scottish and didn't have the right to lead Ghana.
Akuffo Addo led several demonstrations against Rawlings and his government in the 80 and 90s. He led the Kumepreko, sie mipreko, wei mipreko demonstrations against Rawlings.
He led demonstrations on fuel prices, cost of living and economic hardships in the country.
He dented Rawlings's leadership even after the NPP took over power in 2001.
The same Akuffo Addo as attorney general sued and got Nana Konadu Rawlings prosecuted over some accusations of misappropriation of public fund and thievery. Today he want to maneuver his way into the Rawlings's family and pretend as if they were so cool.
Akuffo Addo never loved Rawlings, we are all aware, so he should stop pretending as though there was some serious friendship between them. Rawlings acknowledged Akuffo Addo as president of Ghana and respected him for that matter, but this respect was never on the basis of friendship, it was statemanship.
Akuffo Addo must stop pretending, he never liked Rawlings and he is happy for his death.
Another shock I have is the growing affection between Nana Konadu Rawlings and Akuffo Addo. This makes me feel betrayed and uncomfortable.
Akuffo Addo friends with Konadu?
Another story to tell.
